Company History

1986

  • The company was incorporated as a private limited company in the name Jerry Varghese Constructions Private Limited.

1988

  • The company was awarded the first major work of construction of roads/flexible pavement for the entire Nhava Sheva port.

1993

  • The company ventured into construction of runways by taking up work of Daman Airport.
  • The company set up an in-house Ready Mix Concrete Plant for captive consumption.

1994

  • The company's name was changed to Tarmat Infrastructural & Engineering Private Limited.

1996

  • The company successfully executed the work of upgradation of the main runway 09/27 at the Mumbai International Airport with CAT-2 lighting system.

2000

  • The company successfully completed the work of strengthening of secondary runway 09/27 and parallel taxiway at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.

2001

  • The company was awarded the work of renewal of Highway Bhuj - Bhachau section.
  • The company successfully executed the work of construction of Master Plan road at relocation of Industries Project, Udyog Vihar, Delhi.

2002

  • The company expanded its geographical area of operations to North East by taking up two highway projects in the state of Mizoram.

2003

  • The company ventured into bridge works by taking up the project of upgradation of road from Sankeshwar to Yaragatti.

2005

  • The company was converted to a public limited company and its name was changed to Roman Tarmat Limited.

2006

  • The company was accredited with ISO 9001:2000 quality management system certificate for construction of Highways and Airports.

2008

  • The company bagged an order from New Mangalore Port Trust, Mangalore for concreting the existing roads worth Rs 2942 Lacs.
  • Roman Tarmat bagged two small orders worth around Rs 19.62 Crores.
  • The company received two new work orders from Tamilnadu Road Infrastructure Development Corporation.

2009

  • The company received new work orders worth 4 Crore, 9 Crore, and 22 Crore.
  • The company received a new work order from Chief Engineer, (H) Metro, Alandur, Chennai.

2010

  • Roman Tarmat obtained an order worth Rs 26.60 crore from Tamil Nadu Urban Development Project for widening and strengthening of road project.
  • Roman Tarmat received an order for construction of internal road work for L & T Shipbuilding Ltd., Chennai worth Rs.7.50Cr.

2012

  • The company changed its name from Roman Tarmat Ltd. to Tarmat Ltd.

2014

  • Shri Shivatosh Chakraborty was designated as company secretary and Compliance Officer of the company.
