Company History

1996

  • The company was incorporated as VISA INDUSTRIES LIMITED.

1999

  • The company's Registered Office shifted to its own premises at 11, Ekamra Kanan, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar - 751 015, Orissa.

2004

  • The High Court of Orissa and the High Court at Calcutta approved the Scheme of Amalgamation of Visa Energy Resources Limited into the company.
  • The RoC issued the Certificate of registration of order of the High Court of Orissa, Cuttack.
  • Visa Energy Resources Limited was amalgamated into the company.

2005

  • The company changed its name from Visa Industries Ltd. to Visa Steel Ltd.
  • The company was issued a fresh certificate of incorporation by the RoC.

2006

  • Visa Steel fixed the price band for its initial public offering at Rs 52-57 per share.
  • The company entered the capital market with an issue of 3.5 crore shares of Rs 10 each through a 100 per cent book-building process.

2008

  • Visa Steel Ltd appointed Mr. Shiv Dayal Kapoor as an Additional Director on the Board of Directors of the Company.

2009

  • Visa Steel recommenced operation of its Ferro Chrome Plant.
  • The company commenced operation of its 2nd 25MW Power Plant situated at Kalinganagar Industrial Complex, Jaipur, Orissa.

2010

  • Visa Steel signed an MOU with the Madhya Pradesh Trade & Investment Facilitation Corporation Ltd.

2011

  • Visa Steel Ltd recommended a dividend of 10% on Equity shares.

2012

  • Visa Steel inked an agreement with SunCoke to establish a cokemaking joint venture.

2013

  • The Company approved the Scheme of Amalgamation of Kalinganagar Metcoke Private Limited with VISA Steel Limited.
  • Visa Steel formed a joint venture with SunCoke Energy, Inc. with 51% ownership.
  • Visa Steel and Suncoke Energy formed a joint venture in India.

2014

  • The Company appointed Mr. Punkaj Kumar Bajaj as Joint Managing Director and CEO (Steel Business) of the Company.

2015

  • The Company merged VISA Bao Limited with Visa Steel Limited.
