1976

  • Dr. Vijay Sankeshwar commenced the goods transportation business in the State of Karnataka through a proprietary firm.

1983

  • The assets and liabilities of the proprietary firm were acquired by a private limited company under the name 'Vijayanand Roadlines Private Limited'.

1992

  • The courier service business was commenced in the State of Karnataka.

1994

  • The Company became a deemed public limited company.

1996

  • The passenger transportation service business was commenced.

1997

  • The status of the Company was changed from a deemed public limited company to a public limited company.

2003

  • Vijayanand Printers Limited became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.
  • The Company was listed in the Limca Book of Records as the 'Single largest fleet owner of commercial vehicles in the private sector in India'.

2004

  • The Company acquired Vijayanand Travels, a proprietorship concern, to take over its passenger transportation business.
  • The Company commenced commercial operations out of owned infrastructure facilities at Varur, Hubballi.

2005

  • The Company was certified ISO 9001:2000 for its passengers travel service at Hubballi, Bangalore and Belgaum.

2006

  • The Company was certified ISO 9001:2000 for providing logistics services for transportation of cargo, express cargo and courier services.
  • The equity and preference shareholding in Vijayanand Printers Limited was divested in full to Times Group.
  • The Company commenced its wind power business and installed 34 wind turbine generators with a capacity of 1.25 MW each.
  • The name of the Company was changed to 'VRL Logistics Limited'.

2007

  • The Company purchased a Premier 1A aircraft from Hawker Beechcraft Incorporation, USA to commence its air charter business.

2009

  • The Company was awarded the 'Best Logistics Service Provider' in the FMCG and retail sectors by Frost & Sullivan.

2010

  • The wind power project was registered as a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

2011

  • The Company forayed into car carrying and liquid transportation.

2012

  • The Company's turnover crossed Rs. 10,000 million.
  • NSR invested in the Company by subscription to Preference Shares.

2013

  • The Company purchased a second-hand aircraft from M/s Force Motors Limited to add to the air charter fleet.

2014

  • The turnover of the Company crossed Rs. 15,000 million.

2016

  • VRL Logistics Ltd purchased buses for capacity addition.

2018

  • VRL Logistics Ltd purchased trucks for capacity addition.
