Company History
1949
- Company incorporated on 24 December in Mumbai to manufacture transformers, electric motors, all-aluminium conductors, furnaces, H.T. airblast circuit breakers, panels and switchboards.
- Asea Brown Boveri established as subsidiary of Swedish-Swiss ABB group operating in power T&D, industrial equipment and factory automation.
1964
- 20,000 Pref. shares issued to collaborators; 1,20,000 right equity shares offered 1:1.
1965
- Company name changed from Hindustan Electric Co. Ltd. to Hindustan Brown Boveri Ltd.
1976
- 60,000 bonus equity shares issued 1:4.

- Set up Integra Hindustan Control Ltd. for railway equipment at Halol, Gujarat.
- Promoted National Switchgears Ltd. with Pradeshiya Industrial Corporation for switchgears at Rae Bareli.
- Received industrial licences for mini-computer systems, modems, power supplies, keyboards.
