1981

  • Deccan Fibre Glass Ltd amalgamated effective June 1; allotted 87,105 equity shares 1:40.
  • Received letter of intent for glass wool manufacture.

1982

  • Promoted joint venture UPCOM Cables Ltd with Pradeshiya Industrial and Ceat Cari Italy.
  • Entered collaboration with Yokohama Rubber Japan for radial tyres.
  • CTI Investments Ltd, Ceat Investment Ltd, Ceat Finance Co Ltd became wholly owned subsidiaries.

1983

  • Atlantic Holdings Ltd and Malabar Coastal Holdings Ltd became subsidiaries.

1986

  • Offered Rs 10 crore 15% non-convertible debentures (third series) on rights basis.

1987

  • Implemented radial tyres project mid-year; applied for conveyor belts licence.
  • Set up nylon yarn/cord fabric factory at Malanpur with Toray Japan.
  • Offered 4,192,000 12% convertible debentures on rights basis; allotted additional and private placement; offered to employees.

1988

  • Proposed Nasik expansion to 10 lakh automotive tyres and third plant at Waluj.
  • Entered agreement with Nitto Boseki Japan for fibre glass capacity expansion to 5,000 tonnes.
  • Meteoric Industrial Finance Co Pvt Ltd became subsidiary.

1989

  • Production and sales increased despite Nasik strike; proposed steel belted radials with Yokohama.
  • Murphy India Ltd amalgamated effective July 1 per BIFR order.
  • Renamed Thane plant as Electronics Division with Ricoh Japan assistance; modernised with Goldstar Korea.
  • Offered 7,380,158 12.5% partly convertible debentures on rights basis; allotted additional; offered to employees.
  • Company name changed to Ceat Ltd.

1990

  • Offered 9,000,000 14% non-convertible debentures on rights basis; allotted additional; offered to employees; issued warrants.
  • Allotted 49,719 equity shares to Murphy India Ltd shareholders per amalgamation scheme on January 1, 1991.

1992

  • Suspended operations of Electronics Division.
  • Modernised Mumbai plant for productivity and increased capacity.
  • Set up project with Goodyear USA at Aurangabad for radial and earth mover tyres.
  • Offered 6,774,193 15% partly convertible debentures on rights basis (1:3.125); allotted additional to retain oversubscription; offered to employees.

1993

  • Entered collaboration agreement with Yokohama Rubber Company for tyre manufacture at Nasik Plant.

1995

  • Prepared to launch car radials at Aurangabad Factory; introduced new truck tyres 'CLT NOVA', 'HCL-80 Plus', 'Turbo Lug' and 'FM Series' variants.
  • Allotted 4,062,953 equity shares against warrants on January 1.

1996

  • Launched radial car tyre 'Maestro' with polyester tyre cord technology.
  • Launched heavy duty 'Stamina' LCV tyre.

2003

  • Delisted equity shares from Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Madras and Delhi Stock Exchanges.

2005

  • Issued rights in 3:10 ratio.

2009

  • Appointed Mr Vinay Bansal as Director in casual vacancy.
  • Appointed Mr Anant Vardhan Goenka as Additional Director effective December 21.

2010

  • Appointed Mr Anant Vardhan Goenka as Deputy Managing Director effective January 4.

2011

  • Commercial production of passenger/truck radial tyres commenced at Halol plant.
  • Recommended Rs 2 per share dividend.

2012

  • Appointed M/s S R Batliboi & Associates as Statutory Auditors.
  • Appointed Mr Anant Vardhan Goenka as Managing Director.

2013

  • Signed Joint Venture Agreement with A K Khan & Company Ltd.
  • Approved appointment of Mr Arnab Banerjee as Additional Whole-time Director.
  • Recommended dividend of 40% (Rs 4 per share).

2014

  • Recommended dividend of 100% (Rs 10 per share).
  • Approved appointments of Independent Directors including Ms Punita Lal, Mr Atul Choksey, Mr Haigreve Khaitan, Mr S Doreswamy, Mr Mahesh Gupta, Mr K R Podar, Mr Vinay Bansal.

2016

  • CEAT announced investment of Rs 2,800 crore.

2017

  • CEAT acquired 163-acre land in Chennai for over Rs 60 crore to set up radial tyres plant.
  • CEAT launched truck service hub in Kolkata.

2018

  • CEAT signed MoU with Tamil Nadu government for Rs 4,000 crore manufacturing unit at Sriperumbudur.

2020

  • NCLT sanctioned amalgamation of CEAT Specialty Tyres Limited with CEAT Limited.

2021

  • Ceat Tyres launched label-rated tyres in India.

2022

  • CEAT Limited received approval under Component Champion incentive scheme of PLI Scheme for Automobile and Auto Component Industry.

2024

  • CEAT Limited informed about amalgamation of its existing RTA with Link Intime India Private Limited.
