Hindoostan Mills Reports Loss in Q2 FY26 Results, Textile Division Remains Discontinued

Hindoostan Mills Limited reported a net loss for the quarter ended September 30, 2025. The company's continuing operations (Engineering division) showed a profit before tax, while discontinued textile operations recorded losses. Total revenue from operations was Rs 41.26 lakhs for the quarter. The company's textile division closure, decided in April 2025, remains in effect with a final closure order received from the Ministry of Labour in June 2025. All workers from the discontinued division have been retrenched. The Board meeting was held on November 12, 2025, where unaudited financial results were approved. The company now operates only the Engineering division as a continuing operation.

Hindoostan Mills Reports Mixed Performance with Continuing Operations Profitable Despite Overall Loss

Hindoostan Mills Limited announced its quarterly results for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. The company's continuing operations showed a profit of Rs. 104.70 lakhs compared to a loss of Rs. 10.46 lakhs in the previous quarter. Net sales from operations decreased to Rs. 341.26 lakhs from Rs. 383.12 lakhs in the previous quarter. However, the company reported an overall net loss of Rs. 119.08 lakhs due to losses from discontinued textile operations amounting to Rs. 223.78 lakhs. The Board of Directors decided to close down the Textile Division on April 15, 2025, and received final closure order on June 19, 2025. All workers from the discontinued division have been retrenched. The company now operates only in the Engineering segment as a continued operation. Other income included fair value gains on mutual fund investments of Rs. 122.19 lakhs. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was Rs. 6.29 compared to a loss of Rs. 0.63 in the previous quarter.
