- The Thapar group firm APR Ltd entered into a memorandum of understanding with The Paper Products Ltd for the sale of APR's packaging business.

- The Company allotted 63,94,093 shares to Valevefa B.V., a subsidiary of Royal Packaging Industries Van Leer N. V.
2000
- Crisil upgraded the rating of Paper Products' debenture programme from A+ to AA.
- Paper Products Ltd became a subsidiary of the Finland-based Huhtamaki Van Leer.
