Company History

1989

  • Creditcapital Venture Fund (India) Ltd. was established as the first private sector Venture Capital Company in India.
  • The International Finance Corporation subscribed to 12,50,000 equity shares of Rs. 10/- each at a premium of Rs.1/- aggregating Rs. 137.50 lacs.

1990

  • The Company made a public issue of 34,00,000 No. of Equity Shares of Rs.10/- each at par aggregating Rs. 3.40 crores.

1991

  • The company proposed to set up a Fund of about Rs.10 crores, dedicated to providing venture capital in the field of Information Technology.

1993

  • The company received a heartening response from international financial institutions to render their support in setting up of new funds.

1995

  • The company launched the second industry-specific venture capital fund of the country sponsored and managed by the company.

1996

  • The Company and its institutional shareholders proposed to enter into a Management Agreement with IL&FS.
  • Mr. S.M. Datta was appointed as the Chairman of the Company and Mr. Hetal Gandhi was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer.
  • The Company successfully completed the syndication of two Regional Funds, Uttar Pradesh and Orissa, within the overall framework of the SARA Fund.

1998

  • Mr. Hetal Gandhi was appointed as Managing Director of the Company for a term of five years.

1999

  • The Tamilnadu Infotech Fund was set up as a niche fund with an initial corpus of INR 250 million.

2000

  • The Company launched its iCapital Fund in collaboration with Invesco, the private equity arm of US-based Amvescap.
  • The Company signed an MoU with INVESCO Private Capital group.
  • The Company signed an agreement with CDSL & NSDL for dematerialisation.
  • The Shareholders of the Company approved the issue of 660,000 convertible warrants.

2002

  • Mr S A Bhat was appointed as a Director of the Company in place of Mr N S Nayak and Mr V V Subramanian resigned from the Board of Directors.
  • Mr Shahzaad Dalal was appointed as the Executive Vice Chairman of the Company and Mr Muneesh Chawla was appointed as the new Managing Director of the Company.

2003

  • The Company infused $2 million in Secova eServices, a private startup firm.
  • Mr. Muneesh Chawla, Managing Director of the Company, tendered his resignation.

2004

  • The Board of Directors designated Mr Shahzaad Dalal as the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Company.

2006

  • Mr. Narendra Prasad was appointed as Nominee Director of Bank of India on the Board of the Company in place of Mr. S Hariharan.
  • IL&FS Investment Managers gave a bonus in the Ratio of 1:2.

2008

  • The Company appointed Mr. Alok Bhargava as an Executive Director of the Company.
  • The Company issued Bonus Shares in the Ratio of 1:2.

2009

  • The Company split its Face value of Shares from Rs 10 to Rs 2.

2010

  • The Board of Directors of the Company appointed Mr Jitender Balakrishnan as a Non-executive Independent Director of the Company.

2011

  • The Board of Directors of the Company recommended a dividend of 75% (Rs. 1.50 per share of the Face Value of Rs. 2/- each).

2012

  • The Board of Directors of the Company recommended a dividend of 75% (Rs. 1.50 per share of the Face Value of Rs. 2/- each).

2013

  • The Board of Directors of the Company recommended a dividend of 75% (Rs. 1.50 per share of the face value of Rs. 2/- each).
  • The Board of Directors of the Company approved the issue of Bonus Shares in the ratio of One Equity Share for every Two Shares held.

2014

  • The Board of Directors of the Company recommended a dividend of 65% (Rs. 1.30 per share of the Face Value of Rs. 2/- each).

2024

  • The Company announced a scheme of amalgamation of IL&FS Asian Infrastructure Managers Ltd. and IIML Asset Advisors Ltd. with IL&FS Investment Managers Ltd.
