Company History

1998

  • The company was incorporated.

1999

  • IGL took over the Delhi City Gas Distribution Project from GAIL (India) Limited.

2004

  • Indraprastha Gas unveiled its first online CNG station in Delhi.

2006

  • The Board approved the appointment of Mr. Om Narayan as Managing Director.
  • Mr. A. K. De ceased to be the Managing Director.

2007

  • IGL commenced CNG Project activities in Greater Noida.
  • IGL got government clearance for city gas distribution in Noida.
  • The Registered Office of the Company was shifted to IGL Bhawan, Plot No.4, Community Centre, Sector-9, R. K. Puram, New Delhi.

2008

  • IGL set up a PNG central control room in Kaka Nagar.

2009

  • Indraprastha Gas Ltd appointed Sh. S Radhakrishnan as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
  • Indraprastha Gas Ltd appointed Prof. V. Ranganathan as an Additional Director.
  • Noida's first Mother CNG Station was inaugurated.
  • IGL started Piped Natural Gas supply in Noida.

2010

  • Indraprastha Gas recommended a 45% dividend of Rs 4.50 per share.

2011

  • Indraprastha Gas appointed Sh. S. Venkatraman as its new Additional Director and Chairman.
  • The company recommended a 50% dividend of Rs 5 per share.

2012

  • IGL launched a new CNG concept in Delhi.
  • The company recommended a 50% dividend of Rs 5 per share.

2013

  • IGL acquired a 50% stake in Central UP Gas for Rs 70 cr.
  • Indraprastha Gas acquired Asian Development Bank.

2016

  • Indraprastha Gas Ltd authorised KMPs to determine materiality of events/information.

2019

  • Indraprastha Gas Ltd got a city gas licence for Hapur.

2022

  • Indraprastha Gas received the safety innovation award by the Institute of Engineers.

2024

  • The Company issued bonus shares at the ratio of 1:1.
