1943

  • Incorporated as J.K. Investment Trust Limited.

1959

  • Ceased to be recognised as investment trust company.

1960

  • Changed name to J. K. Synthetics Ltd.
  • Issued 10,000 'A' equity shares as rights; 48 taken up.

1967

  • Established research centre at Kota; later Sir Padampat Research Centre.

1973

  • Inaugurated synthetic fibre machinery plant with Harsh Fisher.
  • Set up cement factory at Mimbahera.
  • Set up two cement plants at Nimbahera (4.2 lakh tonnes each).

1975

  • Commissioned cement factory at Mimbahera (750 tonnes/day).

1977

  • Received licence for D.M.T. manufacture; installed commercial plant.
  • Amalgamated with J.K. Steel & Industries Ltd. effective July 1.
  • Redeemed 25,000 preference shares.
  • Issued 60,00,000 bonus equity shares in proportion 2:3.

1979

  • Set up acrylic fibre project with Technimont, Italy.
  • Set up white cement plant at Gotan (50,000 tpa).

1981

  • Allotted equity shares to ICICI, UTI, IFCI, GIC on conversion of loans/debentures.

1982

  • Issued 15,62,500 13.5% convertible debentures.
  • Allotted 31,25,000 equity shares on conversion of debentures.
  • Issued 63,13,666 bonus equity shares in proportion 1:3.

1983

  • Issued 12,00,000 15% non-convertible debentures (6th series) on rights.
  • Issued 15% non-convertible debentures (7th series) to preference shareholders.
  • Issued 1,00,000 13.5% preference shares on rights.

1984

  • J.K Satoh Agricultural Machine became subsidiary.
  • Four investment companies became subsidiaries.
  • Commissioned white cement plant at Gotan.

1985

  • Received licences for facsimile systems and computer software.
  • J.K. Leasing and Risha Steel became subsidiaries.
  • Revalued fixed assets at Nimbahera and Kota.
  • Issued Rs 12 crores and Rs 10 crores debentures to UTI.
  • Redeemed preference shares or converted to debentures.

1986

  • J.K. Industrial and Mineral Products became subsidiary.
  • Set up international trading division.
  • Issued Rs 65 crores debentures for acrylic and nylon projects.
  • Privately placed Rs 22 crores debentures with UTI and LIC.

1987

  • Issued 132,58,700 equity shares on rights 1:2 at premium Rs 20.
  • Issued 3,00,000 14% preference cumulative redeemable shares.

1988

  • J.K. Technosoft undertook projects in US and UK.
  • Received endorsements for capacity expansions.
  • Risha Steel ceased to be subsidiary.

1989

  • Received letters of intent for capacity expansions.
  • Incorporated J.K. Petrochemical Limited for aromatics and PTA project.
  • Transferred Jaykay Tech Division activities to subsidiary.
  • Issued 20,00,000 14% debentures on rights.
  • Issued 19,21,688 12.5% partly convertible debentures on rights; converted portion allotted 66,30,219 shares.

1990

  • Fibretech division under lockout since April.
  • Abandoned facsimile project.
  • Deferred polyester filament yarn and Sidhi cement projects.
  • Allotted 7,00,000 14% debentures on private placement.
  • Received approvals for rights equity shares and partly convertible debentures.

1991

  • Lifted lock-out at Dadri after agreement with workers' union.
  • Received approvals for technical collaborations; signed MOUs.
