Company History
1942
- The founder partners set up a small sugar milling plant at Kanpur
1949
- The plant was shifted from Kanpur to present site at village Masodha, P.O Motinagar, Dist. Faizabad
1950
- The plant was shifted to present site at village Masodha, P.O Motinagar, Dist. Faizabad
1971
- The firm was converted into Private Limited Company known as K. M. Sugar Mills (Pvt.) Ltd.
- Mr. L. K. Jhunjhunwala joined as Managing Director
1974
- The Company became a deemed public company in terms of provisions 43A of the Companies Act
1979
- Singhanias transferred their stake in the Company to Jhunjhunwalas
1980
- The Company expanded the sugar cane crushing capacity from 1800 TCD to 2500 TCD
1988
- The Company started a gas division for manufacturing of Industrial Oxygen Gas and Liquid Nitrogen
1995
- The distillery division was set up to manufacture Rectified Spirit and Extra Neutral Alcohol
2000
- Increased crushing capacity from 2500 TCD to 3500 TCD
- Started production of Bio-Fertilizer using the by product of the sugar and distillery division
- The gas division was expanded to manufacture Dissolved Acetylene Gas
2002
- Distillery division achieved record production of 1,11,58,328 litres of Rectified Spirit
- The Company was converted back to a Private Limited Company under Section 43A (2A) of the Companies Act
- Mr. L. K. Jhunjhunwala became the Chairman of the Company
- Crushing capacities were increased from 2500 TCD to 4500 TCD
2003
- ISO 9001:2000 certification by ICS
- Started Production of fuel grade Ethanol
- Increased crushing Capacity from 3500 TCD to 5000 TCD
2004
- Started implementation of Total productivity Maintenance (TPM)
2005
- The Company was converted into a public limited company with effect from April 20
- The gas division was closed down due to obsolete technology
2006
- Capacity increased from 5000 TCD to 6500 TCD
- K M Sugar successfully completed expansion of sugar division from 4500 TCD to 6500 TCD
2007
- The Company recommended a dividend of 15% (Rs 1.50 per share) on the equity shares of face value of Rs 10 each
2008
- Commissioning of 25 MWh Co- gen plant
- K M Sugar Mills Ltd appointed Mr. S K Gupta as Non Executive Independent Director of the Company
2010
- Company split its Face value of Shares from Rs 10 to Rs 2
2013
- K M Sugar Mills Ltd appointed Mr. P. N. Mathur as a Nominee Director on behalf of Punjab National Bank
2014
- K M Sugar Mills Ltd formed a SPV subsidiary with the name and style of M/s. K.M. Energy Private Limited to make bid for power / energy project
- Production Capacity increased from 6500 TCD to 9000 TCD
2016
- K M Sugar Mills Ltd informed that its subsidiary, K.M Energy Private Limited, successfully commissioned its 5MW Solar Power Project at Village Bendo, Panwari, Distt. Mahoba (U.P.) India and started supply of Electricity to M/s. U.P. Power Corporation, U.P.
