Company History

1975

  • The company was incorporated in April.
  • The company was promoted by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Limited, Nitta Gelatine Inc. Japan, and Mitsubhishi Corporation Japan.
  • The main object of the company is to manufacture ossein and products of ossein, gelatine and glue and their components.

1986

  • The technology for manufacturing compound Glue was made available to the company by Nitta Gelatin Inc.

1987

  • The compound Glue Plant was commissioned on 1st October.

1988

  • The Company was awarded the FACT-MKK Nair Memorial Productivity Award for the year 1988-89.

1989

  • The Company was awarded the Special Export Award for export performance for 1989-90.

2001

  • The Ossein Division of the Company was under lock-out from 23.10.2000 to 03.11.2000 due to labour unrest.

2004

  • Mr. P. H. Kurien, IAS, was elected as Chairman of the Board.

2008

  • The company name was changed from Kerala Chemicals & Proteins Ltd to Nitta Gelatin India Ltd.

2009

  • Mr. Manoj Joshi, IAS, was appointed as Director and Chairman of the Company.

2010

  • The Company decided to set up a Consumer Product Division and launch Collagen Peptide as its first product.
  • The Company launched a product called Nutrigold for use as a foliar spray to improve yield.

2012

  • Mr. V. Somasundaran, IAS, was appointed as Chairman.

2013

  • The Board recommended a Bonus issue of shares in the ratio of 1:3.

2014

  • Mrs. Radha Unni was appointed as an Independent Director of the company.
  • Mr. Sajiv K. Menon was appointed as Managing Director of the company.
