Company History

1989

  • The Company was incorporated as Sigachi Chloro-Chemicals Private Limited.

1990

  • The Company diversified its business activities to manufacture microcrystalline cellulose.

1996

  • The Company began the in-house manufacture of alpha cellulose.

1998

  • The Company commenced its export operations by exporting microcrystalline cellulose to Bangkok.

2000

  • The Company started manufacturing premium grade microcrystalline cellulose and increased the manufacturing capacity from 720 metric tonnes per annum to 1080 metric tonnes per annum.

2004

  • The sale from export operations constituted 32% of the total sales during the financial year.

2006

  • The Research and Developments laboratory received an accreditation from Department of Science and Industrial Research.

2007

  • The Company registered its Drug Master File under the US FDA.

2008

  • The Company set up a unit for manufacturing microcrystalline cellulose at Jhagadia, Gujarat.

2009

  • The Company set up a 100% export-oriented unit for manufacturing microcrystalline cellulose in the special economic zone at Dahej, Gujarat.

2010

  • The Company commenced the commercial production of microcrystalline cellulose at the manufacturing unit situated at Jhagadia.

2011

  • The research and development division of the Company innovated a novel filtration process for manufacturing microcrystalline cellulose.

2012

  • The name of the Company was changed to Sigachi Industries Private Limited.
  • A fresh certificate of incorporation was issued to the Company by the Registrar of Companies, Andhra Pradesh.
  • The Company commenced the commercial production of microcrystalline cellulose at the manufacturing unit situated at Dahej.

2014

  • The Company received approval for the scheme of arrangement executed for merger of SigachiCellulos Private Limited and SigachiPlasticisers Private Limited with the Company.
  • The Company received a certificate of suitability from European Directorate of Quality Medicines.

2016

  • The Company received a certificate of registration from TUV India Private Limited certifying that the management system applied by the Company in the manufacturing unit situated at Jhagadia is as per ISO 9001:2008.

2019

  • The Company was converted from a private limited company to a public limited company and the name was changed to Sigachi Industries Limited.
  • A fresh certificate of incorporation was issued to the Company by the Registrar of Companies, Telangana at Hyderabad.

2020

  • The Company received a certificate of registration from United Registrar of Systems for certifying that the quality management systems of all the manufacturing units are in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
  • The Company received a certificate of registration from TUV NORD CERT GmnH applying management system as per Food Safety System Certification 2000 (Version 4.1) in the manufacturing unit situated at Hyderabad.
  • The Company split its face value from Rs. 10/- to Rs. 1/-.

2022

  • The Company received the Top 100 SME Award 2022 from India SME Forum.
