- The Company was originally incorporated at Mumbai on March 9, 2017 as Rashmika Energy Private Limited, as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 2013, pursuant to a certificate of incorporation dated March 10, 2017 issued by the RoC.
- Commenced operations as the EPC contractor with respect to the world s largest single location solar PV plant in Abu Dhabi according to CRISIL
- Expanded the operations in the USA by incorporating the Subsidiary, Sterling and Wilson Solar Solutions Inc.
- Incorporated the Subsidiary, Renovable Energia Contracting S.L. in Spain to cater to European and Latin American markets
2018
- The Solar EPC Division of Sterling and Wilson Private Limited was demerged into the Company pursuant to the order dated March 28, 2018 of the NCLT, Mumbai approving the Scheme of Arrangement, with the appointed date for the transfer of such Solar EPC Division being April 1, 2017.
- The name of the Company was changed to Sterling and Wilson Solar Private Limited pursuant to the resolution passed by the Shareholders at their EGM held on March 29, 2018
- Expanded operations in Australia by acquiring a controlling stake in GCO Electrical Pty Limited
2019
- Recognised as the world s largest solar EPC solutions provider in 2018 based on annual installations of utility-scale photovoltaic systems of more than five mega-watt peak by IHS Markit
- The Company was converted into a public limited company pursuant to the approval of the Shareholders at an EGM held on January 11, 2019.
- Consequently, the name of the Company was changed to Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited and a fresh certificate of incorporation consequent upon conversion from private company to a public company was issued by the RoC on January 25, 2019.
2020
- Sterling and Wilson Solar gets orders worth Rs 1,600 cr
- Company is awarded its largest solar project in the United States of America worth USD 99 million.
2021
- Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited wins its first Waste-to-Energy project worth INR 1,500 crore.
- Sterling and Wilson Solar Limited commissioned 25 MW solar project in Oman.
- Company name changed to Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd. from Sterling and Wilson Solar Ltd.
2022
- Company received Leading EPC award.
- SWRE wins order worth INR 2,212 crore from NTPC REL.
- Sterling and Wilson Solar Solutions Inc. signs MOU with the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
2023
- Sterling and Wilson wins 300 MW solar EPC project from NTPC.
- Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy bags order worth Rs 1,130 cr.
- Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy wins orders worth Rs 826 crore.
- Company received OHSSAI Occupational Health and Safety Award (GOLD) in the Power Sector.
- Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited emerges as successful bidder for work of Solar PV Project worth INR 2,100 Crore.
- Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy received EPC Award 2023.
