Company History

1988

  • The Company was established as a Partnership Firm in the name of Tips Cassettes & Record Co.

1990

  • The Company set up its first manufacturing facility at Palghar, Maharashtra.

1992

  • M/s. R.K. Electronics was dissolved and merged with the partnership firm M/s. Tips Cassettes and Records Company.

1996

  • The Company was converted into a joint stock company under Chapter IX of the Companies Act, 1956.
  • The Company was rechristened as Tips Industries Private Limited.

1997

  • Tips commissioned the second manufacturing facility for blank and pre-recorded audio cassettes at Silvassa.

1999

  • The Company acquired the audio rights held by Video Master, Time Magnetics (India) Limited and Weston Components Limited.
  • The Company became a Deemed Public Limited Company.

2000

  • The Company acquired audio rights held by Mr. Jawaharlal Chopra.
  • Tips Industries Ltd. entered the capital market with an initial public offer.
  • The Company entered the south Indian film music market.
  • The Company signed a three-year exclusive licensing deal with Warner Electra Atlantic International Inc, US.

2002

  • Shiv Abhichandani resigned from the Directorship of Tips Ind.

2004

  • The Company shifted its Registered office to new premises.

2005

  • Tips Industries and Mukta Arts re-associated to create history.

2006

  • The email address for investors is [email address].

2008

  • The Board recommends a dividend of 20%.

2009

  • Tips has recommended a dividend of 11% i.e. Rs. 1.10 per share.

2010

  • The Board recommends a dividend of 12.5% i.e. Rs. 1.25 per share.

2011

  • The Board recommends a dividend of 12.5% i.e. Rs. 1.25 per share.

2012

  • Tips Industries has proposed a dividend of 20% i.e. Rs. 2 per share.

2013

  • The Company has recommended a dividend of 21% i.e. Rs. 2.10 per share.

2023

  • The Company has split its face value from Rs. 10/- to Rs. 1/-.

2024

  • The Company name has changed to Tips Music Ltd. from Tips Industries Ltd.
