NCLT Mumbai Bench-III appointed Mr. Nitin Narang as Resolution Professional for Unitech International Limited, replacing the previous Interim Resolution Professional based on Committee of Creditors' recommendation. The appointment was confirmed in the insolvency case filed by 4g Plastics Inc. against Unitech International Limited under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.

Unitech International Unable to File Quarterly Results Due to Insolvency Process Complications

Unitech International Limited has entered Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process following an order dated June 26, 2025 by the National Company Law Tribunal Mumbai Bench-II. Mr. Mayur Rajendrakumar Popat has been appointed as the Interim Resolution Professional to oversee the company's operations. The company will be unable to comply with quarterly filings under SEBI regulations due to non-availability of information from the Registrar and Transfer Agent, who cannot provide necessary data due to non-payment of fees to depositories NSDL and CDSL. Unitech International Limited, currently undergoing Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), has issued a notice for its first Committee of Creditors meeting scheduled for July 25, 2025, via video conferencing. The company's CIRP commenced on June 26, 2025, with Mayur Rajendrakumar Popat appointed as Interim Resolution Professional. The Committee consists solely of secured financial creditors, with Bank of Maharashtra being the primary creditor with claims of INR 35 crore. The meeting agenda includes appointing the Resolution Professional at INR 1.5 lakh monthly fees, approving legal advisors MV Law Partners for INR 50,000, and ratifying various CIRP costs totaling INR 2.4 lakh incurred to date. The 180-day resolution timeline extends until December 24, 2025, with estimated total CIRP costs of INR 38 lakh. The company has received one secured financial creditor claim and two operational creditor claims following the public announcement.
