1981
- The Company was incorporated as a public limited company in June at Pune.
- The Company was promoted by H.K. Firodia, J.H. Munot and Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen AG, erstwhile West Germany.
- The Company's object is to manufacture mechanical steering gears and hydraulic power steering gears.
- The Company entered into a licence and know-how contract with Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen AG, erstwhile West Germany.
1982
- 350 shares were subscribed for by the signatories to the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
- 14,99,650 shares were issued at par, with 3,90,000 shares reserved and allotted to ZF Ag, West Germany and 5,99,650 shares to promoters.
- 5,10,000 shares were offered to the public in January 1983.
1984
- 7,50,000 right equity shares were issued at par in the proportion 1:2.
1991
- The company issued non-convertible debentures worth Rs.50 lakhs on a private placement basis with the UTI.
1993
- The company produced and supplied power steering gears for light commercial vehicles for Telco.
- The company developed and designed a power steering gear for Tata 207 range of vehicles.
- The company proposed to expand the production capacity of mechanical steering gears to 75,000 units per annum and proposed to manufacture 3,600 power steering gears per annum.
1994
- 22,85,575 shares were allotted on a right basis.
1995
- The company offered 22,50,000 equity shares on a right basis to existing shareholders.
- 22,43,675 shares were allotted and 6,325 shares were kept in abeyance.
- 41,900 shares were offered to employees, all of which were taken up.
- 1,075 shares out of 6,325 shares kept in abeyance were allotted.
2005
- ZF Steering Gear issued a bonus in the ratio of 1:1.
2008
- Mr. M L Rathi was inducted as a Non-Executive Independent Director of the Company.
2009
- The company launched 8046 Power Steering Gear.
- The company launched Rack and Pinion Mech Steering.
2010
- The Board of Directors recommended a Final Dividend of Rs. 5.00 per Equity Share for the year 2009-10.
2012
- ZF steering Gear (India) successfully commissioned a 5MW solar power project.
- ZF Lenksysteme India Private Limited inaugurated their factory at Pune.
2013
- ZF Steering Gear Board recommended a dividend of Rs. 8 per Equity Share for the financial year 2012-13.
2014
- ZF Steering Gear Board recommended a dividend of Rs. 7 per Equity Share for the year 2013-14.
- The company appointed Ms. Eitika Munot and Mr. S. A. Gundecha as additional directors on the Board.
2015
- ZF Steering signed a Memorandum of Co-operation with JSC 'BATE' of Republic of Belarus.
- Robert Bosch Automotive Steering GmbH changed its name from 'ZF Lenksysteme India Private Limited' to 'Robert Bosch Automotive Steering Private Limited'.
2016
- ZF Steering Gear acquired an industrial plot.
2017
- The company started production of Valve Block and Radial Piston pump.
2018
- The company introduced 8038 and 8049 Steering Gear.
2019
- The company initiated a production facility in Indore.
2020
- The company developed 8049 Steering Gear, Aluminum Pump and 28cc Pump.
