Definition of Firm Allotment


Firm Allotment refers to the allocation of shares to individual and institutional investors who are not considered retail public investors, to avoid dilution of their stake during an Initial Public Offering (IPO) (LINKED). For example, shares may be allotted for Lead Bankers, Foreign Institutional Investors, employees of the issuing company etc.
