1987
- Incorporated as Nav Electromed Pvt. Ltd. on June 4.
- Formed as joint venture between 3M (USA) and Scinitar Investment and Trading Co. Pvt. Ltd.
- Began manufacturing telecommunication connectors; preparing for speciality pressure sensitive tapes, medical/surgical packaging applications, speciality chemicals at Keonics-Electronics City near Bangalore.
1988
- Name changed to Birla 3M Pvt. Ltd. in February.
- Entered technical agreement with 3M on March 17 for technology transfer.
1989
- Converted to public limited company on April 27.
1991
- Issued balance shares to the public in February.
