- The company expanded its capacity to 17,616 spindles.
1987
- Members belonging to one union went on a strike on 9.5.1987 and the strike was called off on 6.7.1987
- A section of workmen went on a strike on 21.7.1987.
- The company declared a lock out on 22.7.1987.

1991

1992
- The company expanded its capacity to 24,672 spindles.
1994
- The company became a deemed Public Limited Company under Section 43A(1A) of the Companies Act, 1956 from 1.7.1994.
- The company set up two Wind Turbine Generators at Muppandal, Kanya Kumari District, Tamil Nadu.
1995
