- A British company by the name of Central Provinces Prospecting Syndicate was set up
1924
- The Central Provinces Prospecting Syndicate changed its name to the Central Provinces Manganese Ore Company Limited (CPMO)
1962
- Incorporation of our Company
- Transfer of mining leases for manganese ore over the Nagpur, Dongri Buzurg and other areas, Consumable stores and other fixed assets from CPMO pursuant to the 1962 Agreement
1977
- CPMO ceased its involvement with our Company following a sale of its entire shareholding and certain other properties and assets associated with our operations to the Government of India
- Transfer of entire stake by CPMO to Government of India and our Company became a 100% Government owned company
- Transfer of the Heavy Media Separation Plant located at the Belapur-Hamesha mine and other consumable stores and spares from CPMO
1991
- Set up Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide Plant (EMD) at Dongri Buzurg mine
1993
- Awarded the Economic Times and the Harvard Business School Association of India awards for excellence in corporate performance
1998
- Set up High Carbon Ferro Manganese plant with capacity of 10,000 TPA at Balaghat mine
2000
- Awarded Merit Certificate for excellence in the achievement of MoU targets for the year 1998-99 by the GoI, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and Department of Public Enterprises
2001
- Set up integrated Manganese Beneficiation Plant at Dongri Buzurg mine
2002
- Awarded Merit Certificate for excellence in the achievement of MoU targets for the year 2000-01 by the GoI, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises and Department of Public Enterprises
2004

- MOIL Ltd, has assigned Rs 250 crore investment for conducting geophysical studies and exploratory drilling on 597 acres of area in Maharashtra.
- Moil gets govt approval on mining lease for manganese ore from the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
2014
- Moil - The grant of Prospecting License (PL) by Government of Maharashtra over an area of 597.44 hectares in Nagpur and Bhandara districts of Maharashtra have now been executed and registered.
2015
- MOIL Ltd. - Approval of environmental clearance for purchase of land for new mine
2016
- MOIL Ltd Signing of MoU with Government of Madhya Pradesh.
- MOIL Ltd Execution of Mining lease over 48.974 Ha land in Village Lugma, Tehsil.
