Company History

1962

  • The company was incorporated as Premier Cotton Spinning Mills Ltd.

1964

  • Production of cotton yarn commenced.

1981

  • The installed capacity was increased to 50,628 spindles.

1985

  • The company name was changed to Precot Mills Ltd.

1991

  • A second mill was set up at Kodigenahalli in Andhra Pradesh with an initial capacity of 28,800 spindles.

1992

  • The company set up a 100% EOU at Walayar, Kerala with 10,080 spindles and 384 rotors.
  • 30,00,000 equity shares were issued, subscribed and paid-up.

1993

  • The company undertook a modernisation-cum-expansion programme.
  • The company set up an open end project with 1152 rotors.

1994

  • The company issued 5 lakh shares to Indian and foreign financial institutions.
  • 10,00,000 equity shares were allotted in lieu of warrants.
  • 5,00,000 shares were issued to foreign institutional investors.

1995

  • The company's open end unit was commissioned in September and reached full capacity in December.
  • 15,00,000 rights equity shares were issued in March.

1996

  • A fire accident destroyed the cotton and yarn godown in January.

2004

  • Precot Mills recommended a dividend of 35%.

2006

  • The company increased its authorised share capital to 9 Crores.
  • The company name was changed from Precot Mills Ltd to Precot Meridian Ltd.

2007

  • The company designated an E-mail ID for investor complaints: [investor.complaints@precot.com](mailto:investor.complaints@precot.com).

2010

  • The company recommended a dividend of 50%.

2011

  • The company recommended a dividend of 100%.

2013

  • Precot Meridian Ltd announced a bonus in the ratio of 1:2.

  • The company name was changed to Precot Ltd. from Precot Meridian Ltd.
