Company History

1985

  • The Company was incorporated as a private limited company on 14th February and converted to a public limited company on 11th October.
  • The Company was promoted by Ramesh Suri and Jayant Nanda along with their associates.
  • The Company entered into a technical collaboration agreement with Nippondenso Co. Ltd., Japan.
  • The Company undertook to set up a project for the manufacture of 50,000 units per annum of automotive air-conditioning systems.
  • The Company started supply of air-conditioning systems for Maruti Gypsy, Premier 118 NE, and Tatamobile.
  • One prototype kit was supplied to each of the manufacturers, Premier Automobiles Ltd., and Tata Engineering and Locomotive Co. Ltd.
  • 15,00,000 shares were allotted at par to promoters, directors, Nippondenso Co., Japan, and Suzuki Motor Co., Japan.

1988

  • 12,75,000 shares were issued at par, with 1,87,500 shares reserved for allotment on a preferential basis to employees.
  • The balance of 10,87,500 shares, along with the unsubscribed 1,82,800 shares of the employees' quota, were offered to the public in July 1988.

1991

  • The Company developed and commenced supply of air-conditioning systems to Telco for their Tata Sierra and Tata Estate.

1995

  • The Company increased the installed capacity of AC systems to 2,00,000 nos.
  • 22,48,080 shares were issued at a premium of Rs 23 per share to shareholders on a right basis.

1996

  • The Company started production of AC systems based on HFC 134a refrigerant.

2007

  • The Company split its face value from Rs10/- to Rs2/-.

2008

  • Mr. S Nakanishi was appointed as the Nominee Director.

2009

  • Yasushi Nei was appointed as Director.
  • Mr. Yoshitaka Kajita was appointed as Alternate Director.

2010

  • The Company and Denso Corporation Japan agreed to form a Joint Venture Company in India.

2012

  • Mr. Y Kajita was appointed as Alternate Director.

2013

  • Subros launched Transport Refrigeration Systems.
  • Subros received The Economics Times Gold Award for India Manufacturing Excellence.
  • Subros recommended a dividend of Rs. 0.70 per share.

2014

  • Subros introduced a new customer, Renault Nissan.
  • Subros Chennai Plant became operational.
  • Subros inaugurated the Subros Tool Engineering Center.
  • Subros developed a new product, the 10SL09 compressor.
  • Subros received the Cll-EXIM bank award for Business Excellence.
  • Subros received the MSIL Gold Trophy for overall performance.
  • Subros recommended a dividend of Rs. 0.70 per share.

2015

  • Subros aiming for big orders from bus fleet operators and cold chain solution providers.
  • Subros continued growth with strong customer connect.
  • Subros celebrated 10 Million HVAC units.
  • Subros received a major order from Indian Railways - Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW).
  • Subros inaugurated a new manufacturing facility for Engine Cooling Module (Radiator) at Manesar.
  • Subros upgraded its website www.subros.com.

2016

  • Subros won the ACMA Manufacturing Excellence Award for the sixth time.
  • Subros won the ACMA Manufacturing Excellence Award for its Manesar plant.

2017

  • Subros Manesar Plant reopening ceremony was held on 29th March 2017.
  • Subros won the India Automotive Supply Chain Excellence Award.

2018

  • Subros team received the 'Best Debutant' Award from Ashok Leyland for Outstanding Support.
  • TML team received the 'Small People Mover of the Year' Award for Tata Magic Express.

2019

  • Subros Ltd inaugurated its 9th state-of-the-art plant at Karsanpura.

2023

  • The Company received a new order from Indian Railways for Coach Air-Conditioners.

2024

  • Subros received the CII Industrial Innovation Awards 2024.
