- The Chemical Division started at Boisar for manufacturing dye intermediates and production started.
- The Paper Plant at Banah (Punjab) started.
1981
- A joint venture, PT South Pacific Viscose, was incorporated in Indonesia.
1982
- Indian Tool Mfrs. Ltd. merged with the company.
- The Textile Division of M/s. Indian Tool Mfrs. Ltd. became a division of the company after its merger.
- M/s. Avit Overseas Corporation, New York, a subsidiary of ITM, became a subsidiary of the company.
- Equity Shares were allotted to the holders of 13.5% Secured Debentures of Rs. 120/- each in terms of the right attached.
1983
- Equity Shares were allotted in terms of the scheme of amalgamation of ITM with the company.
1986
- The company changed its name to Zenith Ltd. on January 28.
1989
- A new division, Zenith International, was created for exports.
1991
- The company went under BIFR.
1992
- The company was declared as a Sick Industrial Company by BIFR.
1994
- The company was declared as a Sick Industrial Company by BIFR in 1992, but the exact date of the sale of the Paper Division is between 1994-1995.
1995
- The Paper Division was sold to M/s. Shreyans Industries Ltd.
1996
- The Special Steel Division was sold to M/s. Isibars Ltd.
- The Equity Share Capital was reduced by 75% as per BIFR Order dated January 08.
1997
- The Rehabilitation Scheme sanctioned by BIFR was implemented.
2002
- The Registered Office of the company was changed to Dalamal House, 1st Floor, J. B. Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai with effect from October 30.
- Three new subsidiary companies were formed: M/s. Valueworth Trade Pvt. Ltd., M/s. Zenith Dyeintermediates Ltd., and M/s. Khamgaon Syntex India Ltd.
2004
- The Chemical Division was hived off and sold to M/s. Nipur Chemicals Ltd. in November.
2005
- The company changed its name to Zenith Birla (India) Ltd. on October 18.
- The Textile Division was transferred to M/s. Khamgaon Syntex India Ltd.
2010
- The company issued a bonus in the ratio of 1:5.
2012
- The company received an award for Export Excellence from the Government of India.
2013
- Mr. Vimal Prakash Dubey was appointed as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer on June 18.
2014
- Mr. Anirudha Waghmare was appointed as additional Director on September 30.
- Mr. Ashok Kumar Saaliyan was appointed as additional Director on December 01.
2020
- The company name was changed to Zenith Steel Pipes & Industries Ltd. from Zenith Birla (India) Ltd.
